- From a foster home to the home of his loving adoptive parents, Jon grew up in Northwest Ohio. Jon went on to lead the Dayton Flyers to their 1989 Division III Football National Championship while earning his bachelor’s and master’s degrees at the University of Dayton.
- As Speaker of the Ohio House, Jon shepherded the largest income tax cut in state history to help middle-class families keep more of what they earn.
- Following his service in the Ohio Senate, Jon took on the job of Secretary of State, where he helped make Ohio one of the most business-friendly states in the Midwest and ensured our elections are fair and secure.
- As Lt. Governor, Jon's common sense, experience-based approach brought more career technical education to our schools, new 21st century jobs to our state, and fewer regulations and red tape for Ohio's job creators.
